You have at your disposal the metro, buses, taxis and car rentals to go to Porto’s city center.

In Porto there are several public and private hospitals with emergency service 24/7, in case of any eventuality. For any more serious situation you can dial the emergency phone number: 112.

Public transportation

Considering where the Faculty of Arts is located within Porto map, we suggest as the main transportation buses, metro and taxis.

The bus lines (STCP) cover almost the entire city, with services between 6am and 1am, all days of the week, with different schedules for each line. It can be adquired a tourist pass for 1, 4 or 7 days.

To travel in Porto Metro, with 6 main lines signalled with different colors and letters and indications of the different stations (being Casa da Música the closest station to the Faculty of Arts), it is necessary to acquire the rechargeable ticket “Andante” that can also be used in buses. In the Airport there is a stand for this service that can give all the necessary informations for your easy transportation within the city.

Money currency / International cards

The € (euro) is the Portuguese currency. Exchange of international currencies can be made through banking agencies in the airport or across the city. Credit / debit international cards may be used in ATM’s and in most of the accommodation, restoration and commerce services..

Time zone

The Portuguese time zone is the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and in January we are under the Winter time.
